Ruling on maintaining islamic relations with shias, marrying them, consuming their sacrificed animals, participating in their funerals, and appointing them witnesses in sunni marriages

Writing oneself Shia in the form to avoid Zakat

Question:

What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis say about the issue of dealing with Shia Muslims in Pakistan? Can Sunni Muslims participate in their funeral prayers, condolence gatherings, and other social events? What is the ruling for the general public and specifically for the scholars of the Ahl-e-Sunnat wa Jama'at? Can we offer their funeral prayer or not? If they invite our Imam-masjid for a recitation of the Quran (Khatm) or other events, should they attend or not? If they offer or share food from their homes, should we accept it or not?

Answer: In the given situation, Shia Muslims are considered infidels and heretics due to their beliefs. Therefore, it is obligatory to avoid Islamic dealings with them, such as:

1- Marriage

2- Eating their slaughtered animals

3- Participating in their funeral prayers

4- Inviting them to participate in one's own funeral prayers

5- Accepting them as invitations in marriage ceremonies

It is also necessary to avoid business dealings with them.
