Ruling on praying behind the insolent of Sayyidna Abu Sufiyan:
Question:
What do religious scholars and muftis of the Shariah say about the following issue, where a preacher said in his Friday sermon:
The grandson is fulfilling the plans of his grandfather, Sayyidna Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) invaded Medina and his grandson Yazid invaded Mecca... Is such a person guilty of blasphemy Sayyidna Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) because of the above words or not? And is it permissible to pray(salah) behind such a person?
Answer: Provided that the question is valid, the person who said the above words about Sayyidna Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) is misguided and an innovator, and praying behind such a person is Makruh and forbidden.
