Question: What do the Islamic scholars and muftis say regarding the following situation: I was forced to recite the funeral prayer for a Shia Muslim, despite my reservations and attempts to dissuade others from participating. However, my senior was present, and I was compelled to recite the prayer in front of him. Now, I'm wondering if I need to renew my faith and marriage contract?

Answer: Assuming the question is valid, since you considered the funeral prayer to be impermissible and only performed it due to coercion, you did not commit apostasy. Therefore, you do not need to renew your faith and marriage contract. However, you are still considered to have sinned and should perform repentance (tawbah).فنقول لا يصلى على الكافر .... لان الصلوة على الميت دعاء واستغفار له والاستغفار للكافر حرام:
