Ruling on the Nikah of Sunni man with a Shi'aa woman
Ruling on the Nikah of Sunni man with a Shi'aa woman
Question: What do the Islamic scholars, Muftis of Shariah say about the below mention situation ;
A man who is a Sunni and a woman who is a Shi'aa have got married together, the Nikah officiant is also Shia and all the witness were also Shia except one witness who was a Sunni So under the shariya law is this Nikah valid?
Answer: According to this condition this nikaah is invalid even though the woman was not a deep-rooted Shi'aa, because sacrifice is not completed yet under the shariya Law. The man needs to divorce her and should get seperate from her as soon as possible. It should also be clear that if this women accept Islam becomes Muslim and then if she seeks forgiveness from Allah (SWT) then they both can tie knot again under the presence of Muslim witness.
