Ruling on learning knowledge from Shia scholars
Ruling on learning knowledge from Shia scholars
Question: Is it permissible for a Sunni scholar with correct beliefs to study advanced Arabic books in a Shia seminary? A detailed explanation is required.
Answer: Due to several reasons, it is not appropriate to acquire knowledge from them. For example:
1.If the books being studied are related to religion, it is not permissible to study religious texts from such individuals.
2.As a student, one would be required to show respect to the teacher, even though they are not deserving of such respect.
3.There is a risk of being influenced by their companionship or opposition.
Conclusion: While there may be some benefit, there is a significant risk of harm in learning from them. Additionally, it is not permitted because the teacher's influence tends to transfer to the students.
