Rulling on Abstaining for Declaring Holiday on 10th of Ashura.
Question:
On 9th and 10th of Ashura children of our locality do not come to Madarsa ,while some of them willingly or unwillingly participate in the Dars .
So under these circumstances how Is it to declare day off on 10th of Muharram? Zaid says it is Sunnah or recommended to fast in these days(In the first 10 days of moharram) . So everybody should keep fasts these days and it should be holiday on account of fast as it is also holidays in Ramzan , where as Umar says that it is inappropriate to declare holiday of this day, as it will be a imitation of Shi'aa and innovative people .
Answer: The virtue of keeping fast is evident from Ahadees Mubaraka , but to declare holiday is a way of Shi'aa, so it is mandatory to abstain from it .
Where as while keeping fast and declaring a holiday on account of fast is merely an excuse. There is an evidence of keeping fast in nine days of Dhul Hijab, On 15th of Shaban, In 6 days of Shawwal every months on account of Ayyam e Beed (13th, 14th,15th of each Islamic Calendar) Monday and Thursday .
Then To what extent will it be grant holidays by using Ramzan fast as an excuse .
