Setting Up a Sabeel (Water Station) in Muharram
Setting Up a Sabeel (Water Station) in Muharram:
Question: A man sets up a sabeel (water station) every year during Muharram. How should this act be seen?
Answer: Providing water is an act of virtue and a good deed. However, designating the ten days of Muharram specifically for this purpose resembles the practices of Shia and involves giving preference without valid justification. Therefore, this act is considered an innovation (bid'ah) and should be rejected.
