Vow in the name of Sayedina Hussain (رضی اللہ عنہ)
Vow in the name of Sayedina Hussain (رضی اللہ عنہ):
Question: A person made a vow to Allah Almighty that if he had a son, he would make niyaz for the sake of Allah and send the reward to Syadina Hussain (رضی اللہ عنہ). Now that his son has been born, he has been making an hensli (a type of clothing) every year and has completed it. He wants to send the reward to Syadina Hussain (رضی اللہ عنہ) for the sake of Allah. Is this permissible?
Answer: A vow that involves seeking proximity to the dead is unanimously considered invalid and impermissible. Therefore, making a vow to send rewards to Syadina Hussain (رضی اللہ عنہ) is not permissible. Any vow made for the sake of Allah must be pure and solely for Allah's sake, without any intention of seeking proximity to anyone else.
The vow made by the questioner seems to involve seeking proximity to other than Allah, so he should repent and avoid making such vows in the future. If a vow is made solely for the sake of Allah, it becomes obligatory, and its expenditure is for the poor and needy.
The method adopted by the questioner is against the Shariah, and making and wearing hensli is impermissible. These are traditions of ignorant people.
