Question: Zaid converted to Christianity, now his Muslim wife remain in his Nikah or not?, Can his Muslim wife remarry or not? And Is Iddat is obligatory on her or not? If so, since when?
Answer: It is in Dar-ul-Mukhtar that the apostasy of one of the spouses is an immediate termination of Nikah. And the rest of the details show that his wife's Nikah terminate immediately. Iddat is obligatory on her, after Iddat she can marry again, and Iddat will be counted from the time of her husband's apostasy.
