A Muslim contributing to the construction of an infidel's house
Question: Zaid is a devout and pious Muslim. He donated to the construction of a Hindu temple, including an idol house, to please a Hindu acquaintance. Is this participation a cause of sin or not?
Answer: If Zaid donated to please the Hindus and gain their favor, then his Islam is doubtful. As a precaution, it is obligatory for him to renew his Islam. However, if he did not participate out of favoritism but due to some compulsion, then he did not become an infidel, but his participation is still not free from sin. Now, the way to escape this is through repentance and turning to Allah.
