If meat is not provided according to the beliefs of Muslims, then eating it is not permissible
Question:On a ship, beef is slaughtered by non-Muslims. Is it permissible to eat it? Is it permissible to eat meat slaughtered by someone other than a Muslim or a true People of the Book? What are the conditions for this?
Answer: It is permissible to eat meat slaughtered by a true Muslim or a genuine People of the Book, provided it was slaughtered properly with the utterance of 'Bismillah' (بسم اللہ). Meat slaughtered by other non-Muslims is not halal. If meat is not provided according to Islamic beliefs on a ship owned by a non-Muslim company, it is not permissible to eat it.
