Ruling on handing over a new Muslim to her Hindu parents
Ruling on handing over a new Muslim to her Hindu parents
Question: A Muslim kidnapped a Hindu girl, converted her to Islam, and then married her. Now, some Muslims want to send the girl back to her Hindu parents. What is the ruling on this?
Answer: The person who kidnapped the non-Muslim girl did wrong, but after she converted to Islam and he married her, the marriage became valid. Now, it is not permissible to hand her over to the non-Muslims. In fact, even if the new Muslim wants to go to them, she should not be allowed to go. However, there is no harm in her meeting her parents or mahram relatives temporarily.
