Ruling on a non-Muslim entering a mosque

Question: In the royal mosque of Kannauj, Hindus come to visit, and the Muazzin and others give them permission due to greed. These people enter the mosque barefoot and with their knees exposed, and the women wear revealing clothing. Is it permissible to allow them to enter the mosque in such a state? We prohibit them from entering the mosque because they are polytheists and impure. However, people say that if they are not visibly impure, it is permissible for them to enter. What is the ruling?

Answer: There is no need to discuss whether the bodies of polytheists are pure or impure. If it is haram to allow Muslim children, whose bodies are often impure, to enter the mosque, then how can adult polytheists, who have additional obstacles to entering the mosque, be allowed to enter? Their bodies are certainly impure, especially since they do not take care to remove impurities after using the washroom, which is a certainty for them. Another major obstacle is that they do not allow Muslims to enter their temples, so Islamic honor demands that we prevent them from entering our mosques.
