The ruling on the nikah of one who insults the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and those who consider him a Muslim
The ruling on the nikah of one who insults the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and those who consider him a Muslim:
Question: What do the scholars of Islam say regarding the following issue: Abdul Qadir has insulted the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and the scholars have issued a fatwa declaring him an infidel. He refuses to repent, so has his nikah been annulled or not? His brothers and nephews consider him a Muslim and support him, so have their nikah also been annulled or not? If they have been annulled, are their divorced wives allowed to nikahfied other Muslims or not? And are these divorced wives entitled to their dowry (mahr) or not?
Answer: Whoever insults the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is undoubtedly an infidel, and his wife is no longer bound to him by nikah. And whoever is aware of his insult and still considers him a Muslim is also an infidel. All the women nikahfied to such individuals, whether they are relatives or not, are no longer bound to them by nikah.
These women can currently demand their mahr, and they have the option to marry any Muslim they choose after completing their waiting period (iddah).
