‘Ali is the best of creation.
This is a lie. Hafiz al Dhahabi has unequivocally stated this. The correct narration in this regard is from Sayyidina Jabir radiya Llahu ‘anhu:
كنا نعد عليا من خيارنا
We regarded ‘Ali as one of the best of us.
Al Dhahabi says, “This is the truth.”[1]
Hafiz Ibn Hajar concurred.[2]
Ahmed ibn Salim Abu Samurah is problematic.
He has shocking reports.[3]
