O ‘Aisha, leave my brother for he is the first to embrace Islam
يا عائشة دعي أخي فأنه أول الناس إسلاما و آخر الناس بي عهدا عند الموت و أولى الناس بي يوم القيامة
O ‘Aisha, leave my brother for he is the first to embrace Islam, the last person with me at my death, and the first person to be with me on the day of Qiyamah.
This narration is a criticism against Sayyidah ‘Aisha radiya Llahu ‘anha since it mentions that ‘Ali was put between ‘Aisha and Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam so ‘Aisha told him:
أما وجدت لك مكانا أوسع لك من هذا
Did you not find any space spacious enough for yourself than here?
Abdul Salam ibn Salih Abu al Salt
- Al Dhahabi says, “Its isnad is filled with darkness. ‘Abdul Salam ibn Salih Abu al Salt is accused.”[1]
- Al Dhahabi mentions reproof befitting Abu al Salt.[2]
- Al Haythami says, “‘Abdul Salam ibn Salih is present therein. He is da’if.”[3]
- Hafiz says, “Al ‘Uqayli records him in al Du’afa’[4] and documents this hadith of his.”[5]
