A Cry from Qatif
Sunni-Shia polemics have often centred on one group attempting to prove its own position from a host of sources. A Cry from Qatif happens to be a Shia Revisionist perspective on the dominant ideas within contemporary Twelver Shi’ism. The author does not represent the Sunni’s nor does he present Sunni arguments. He appeals to the average Shia to think critically about the teachings of the Imams themselves against the dogma, creed, and inherited practice that was formulated and promoted by Shia scholars over the centuries. The author attempts to bring moderation into Shia discourse, and relies exclusively on Shia sources.
