The Concept of Takfir According to the Shia, A Reality or Myth? – (COMPLETE – 26/09/23)
The increased calls for Taqrib (Shi’i-Sunni rapprochement) and harmonisation which we have seen in recent times has led to the manipulation of some of the Ahlus Sunnah—more so those who have not studied the Shi’i creed closely—leading them to become even greater proponents for Taqrib than even the Shīʿah themselves. One of the chief issues, at the core of all Taqrib discussions, is the issue of Takfir (excommunication), wherein the Ahlus Sunnah have been successfully gaslighted into believing that they are the principal culprits in this regard. Abd al-Malik ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Shafi’I in this masterpiece establishes beyond any doubt that those most guilty of Takfīr (excommunication) are the Shiah Ithna Ashariyyah, who excommunicate all other Muslim sects; which he proves from the emphatic texts in their reliable books as well as the Fatawa of their prominent Shi’i authorities. He has further highlighted how this very Takfir and these Shi’i Fatawa—directed to the Sahabah and Ahlus Sunnah, their scholars and general public alike—has manifested itself in the real-world with the horrendous massacre and bloodshed of the Ahlus Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah.
